Armstrong was one of seven players released by the Owls last month.

In addition to the Scotland international, Wednesday let go Ben Hamer, Ryo Hatsuse, Michael Ihiekwe, Marvin Johnson, Pol Valentin and Mallik Wilks.

Bannan, Akin Famewo and Callum Paterson were all offered new deals.

While extension options were triggered for Anthony Musaba, Michael Smith and Josh Windass.
