Leeds marching on
That’s all from us tonight. A decisive day in the Championship promotion race ends with Leeds well clear at the top.
They faded away from the top two last season but are on course to right the wrongs from last season.
As for Sheffield United, they have Burnley breathing down their necks with Scott Parker’s side looking imperious in defence.
It promises to be some race over the last 12 matches.
Farke shares his thoughts
Leeds boss Daniel Farke said after the match: “You have to say we played a strong opponent and it was a tight game.
“For the first 25 minutes they were by far the better side and we were a bit too nervous, not brave and how we conceded the goal was not us.
“But from minute 25 we started to play football and gained more control.
“When you win against the top sides in this league it’s good for confidence but it’s just three points and if we stop winning points now we won’t finish where we want to finish so we have to stay humble, grounded and disciplined.”
How the table shapes up
Leeds’ win means they are now seven points above third place Burnley, who are chasing down Sheffield United.
