Sebastian Fundora Slams Tim Tszyu’s Cut Excuse: “It Was My Punches” – Rematch This Saturday on PBC PPV

Sebastian Fundora Slams Tim Tszyu’s Cut Excuse: “It Was My Punches” – Rematch This Saturday on PBC PPV

Sebastian Fundora isn’t buying into Tim Tszyu’s cut excuse narrative that he’s been pushing to explain why he lost to him last year. Fundora (22-1-1, 14 KOs) believes it was his punches that led him to a 12-round split decision victory over Tszyu (25-2, 18 KOs), not the cut that he suffered in round two.

Tszyu’s PTSD From Cut

Fundora says Tszyu had PTSD from the cut that he had against him, and carried it over into his next fight against Bakhram Murtazaliev.

PBC PPV: Cost & Viewing

Fundora will defend his WBC junior middleweight title against Tszyu this Saturday, July 19th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The event will be shown on PBC on Prime Video and PPV dot com for $79.95.

It’s an expensive card, but some fans might feel it’s worth ordering. They get to see Manny Pacquiao making a comeback at 46 in a world title challenge against WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios.

For Pacquiao fans, they’ll feel it’s worth ordering this event just to see Manny in action. That fight and the Fundora-Tszyu 2 rematch stand out among the rest of the card, which is a so-so one.

“I go back to the replays, and you do see it. You physically can see it. So much that he brought it to his next fight. You see how much PTSD from the cut,” said Sebastian Fundora to PPV on X, talking about how he battered Tim Tszyu with his punches last year.

Tszyu was blown out in three rounds in his next fight after his loss to Fundora, getting knocked out by IBF 154-lb champion Bakhram Murtazaliev last October. Tszyu tried to battle in a toe-to-toe manner and was obliterated. Fundora believes the damage he did to Tszyu left him vulnerable for his fight against Murtazaliev.

Fundora’s Punches: Lingering Impact

“The cut is a completely different thing, but the punches still linger. A lot of people don’t want to recognize those things because of the blood, because of the forearm, the elbow, or whatever. But that’s boxing.

“Fans have all these opinions. It’s just up to me to show them what really happened,” said Fundora.
