Jalen Milroy’s NFL journey starts now.
The former Alabama superstar has signed his rookie deal with the Seattle Seahawks, it was announced late Tuesday. Now he gets to pursue his NFL quarterback dreams.
Seattle took Milroe in the third round not long after signing Sam Darnold to an $100 million contract.
It doesn’t create an immediate QB controversy, but it’s definitely intriguing.
There’s an expectation that Milroe could at least see some specialty rushing packages as a rookie.

For Milroe’s part, he’s just excited about the opportunity.
“It’s definitely a great feeling,” Milroe told the team website. “To be able to have an organization that’s behind you — they selected me out of all the individuals that were placed in the draft — I was one of their selections in this year’s draft. So I’m tremendously happy that I have the support of the organization, but now it’s all about putting our best foot forward moving forward for the organization and for the guys in the locker room.”

Milroe was higher regarded after the 2023 season at Alabama but regressed slightly in his 2024 performances.
He’s still a dynamic talent with a 4.4-second 40 and a phenomenal deep ball. His upside is high.
“For me it’s all about relationships, building relationships with everyone in the locker room, offense and defense,” Milroe said. “What’s big when it comes to that offseason period before you get into the season is the relationship phase. Secondly, mastering us on offense. Who’s our guys offensively, in the receiving corps, tight ends, fullback, running back, quarterback room, just understanding everyone as a whole, because this is a new phase in my life on a new team, so that’s big. Xs and Ox are Xs and Os, but it’s all about the relationship factor right now.”
Because the Seahawks have Darnold (and veteran backup Drew Lock), they can give Milroe as long as he needs to figure things out.
But if he does indeed figure things out, the rest of the NFL should watch out. He could be special.
