Ryan Garcia Rejects Claims He Is Not VADA Tested, Warns of Legal Action

Ryan Garcia moved to shut down claims about his drug testing status Friday, calling reports that he is not enrolled with VADA false and warning of legal action against anyone repeating them.

In a post on X, Ryan Garcia said he has been tested throughout his training camp and rejected suggestions circulating online and in parts of the media that he was not subject to VADA oversight. Garcia wrote that he had not planned to respond publicly but felt compelled to do so after seeing the claims spread.

“I wasn’t going to speak on this bc it’s ridiculous, but I seen parts of the media claiming I’m not tested by VADA, which is extremely untrue,” Garcia wrote. “I’ve been tested this whole camp, and I’m sure so has Mario Barrios.”

Garcia added that anyone continuing to claim he is not being tested would face legal consequences. The language marked one of his strongest public responses on the subject, shifting from denial to warning as the discussion gained traction online.

Questions around testing have followed Garcia since last year, making the issue sensitive as he prepares for his next fight against Mario Barrios. The renewed debate appears tied less to new information than to lingering skepticism, which Garcia’s post was aimed at stopping rather than debating.

Neither VADA nor representatives for Barrios issued a public statement Friday in response to Garcia’s comments. No outlet cited directly by Garcia has publicly corrected or clarified its reporting.

Garcia’s message was clear in intent. He is not treating the claims as speculation or opinion, and he is signaling that he considers the matter settled unless challenged formally.
