Ryan Garcia Accepts Conor Benn’s UK Stadium Challenge, Calling Out the “Money Man” for a Mega-Fight Next

Ryan Garcia Accepts Conor Benn’s UK Stadium Challenge, Calling Out the “Money Man” for a Mega-Fight Next

Ryan Garcia took to social media today to accept Conor Benn’s challenge to fight him “next” in a stadium in the UK. Benn (24-1, 14 KOs) offered Ryan a fight next, referring to himself as the “money man.”

Garcia Says Yes Immediately

Benn, 29, is riding high now after his weight stipulation-aided 12-round unanimous decision victory over Chris Eubank Jr. in a celebrity-like rematch last Saturday, November 15th, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. England.

“I’m up 2-0 on Mr. Eddie Hearn. I would love to make it 3-0 and head to the UK. [It’s] always been a dream of mine. LET’S RUN IT,” said Ryan Garcia on X about his interest in fighting Conor Benn next.

Initially, Benn talked of wanting to challenge WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios next in March 2026 to “tick a box” of becoming a world champion for the first time. But now it appears that he’s focusing on a much bigger fight that would bring in mega-millions, fighting Garcia.

“Your head’s next then. We can run it here in a stadium 🇬🇧. I’m the money man. Come get it!! @RyanGarcia,” said Conor Benn on X.

Chasing the Mega-Millions

It’s a wiser move for Conor Benn to go after the dough fighting Ryan, because it’s far from a given that he would beat WBC champion Barrios (29-2-2, 18 KOs). If Benn is in a zombie-like physical state after returning to the 147-lb division after three years campaigning above the weight at 154 and 160, he could lose.

Barrios Would Be a Nightmare

The Barrios that we saw beat Yordenis Ugas in 2023 and Fabian Maidana in 2024 would be pure trouble for an emaciated, weakened Conor Benn. Mario may be viewed as the weakest link at 147, but he’s got talent.

We haven’t seen Benn beat a world-class-level fighter at 147, 154, or 160. Eubank Jr. isn’t a middleweight; he’s a 168-pounder, and one who has never beaten any of the sharks in that division. When Ryan Garcia is on, he’s an excellent fighter. The version of Ryan that defeated Devin Haney and Oscar Duarte might be too much for an unproven fighter living off his famous father’s name in Conor Benn.

Since 2014, Olly Campbell has brought readers clear ringside perspective and a steady voice on boxing’s biggest nights.
