ROY KEANE paid tribute to his future son-in-law Taylor Harwood-Bellis after the Southampton star scored on his England debut.
Harwood-Bellis, 22, recently got engaged to Keane’s daughter Leah.
He earned his first Three Lions cap this afternoon against Ireland, even wearing Keane’s old No16 as he rose from the bench.
The centre-back made it a debut to remember, nodding home on 79 minutes to complete England’s 5-0 rout.
Watching on from the ITV studio was proud Irishman Keane.
Asked by presenter Mark Pougatch about Harwood-Bellis joining his family, Keane joked: “It’s not done and dusted yet, things can change really quickly in the Keane household.”
With Ian Wright in hysterics, the Manchester United legend added: “It’s nice for him, it’s good for him to make his debut.
“He is a really kid good and his family have done a great job.”
On Harwood-Bellis’ game, Keane added: “He has got a goal threat.
“Over the last few months, he has showed he has got a goal in him for Southampton.”
Harwood-Bellis was called up for the first time by England caretaker boss Lee Carsley having previously skippered the Three Lions’ Under-21s.
Asked about his Keane connection prior to the game, the former Manchester City starlet said: “It’s something that is good and I take a lot of advice.”
Harwood-Bellis has plenty of sporting connections within his family.
His dad Steve is president of Stockport County in League One.
While his sister Becky represented Great Britain in basketball.
Keane, 53, often refers to Leah as “No4” – due to her being his fourth child.
In September he posted a picture of himself sitting with Leah after making a 360-mile round trip to visit her.
He captioned it: “No.4 thinks because she lives 180 miles away that I won’t pop in for a cup of tea. Always watching.”
Keane has five children with wife Theresa Doyle; Shannon, Caragh, Aidan, Leah and Alanna.
