Riyadh Sason & Sela Consider Eubank Jr. vs. Benn Rematch in London for November

The Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn fight is being looked at by Riyadh Sason and Sela for November in London. The fight was initially scheduled for September 20th in London.

London Bout Eyed: November Date

Mike Coppinger reports that the Eubank Jr-Benn rematch is now potentially happening. The details are still scarce. Fans would prefer the two move on and fight other guys, preferably true world-class second-tier opposition like both have been doing most of their careers.

The rematch makes no sense because Eubank Jr. (35-3, 25 KOs) soundly beat Benn (23-1, 14 KOs) by a 12-round decision last April. Just to have a rematch for no other reason than to make money at the public’s expense is bad for the sport.

It’s a fight that the fans have little use for, as it’s a pathetic, commercially driven fight, with no real objective other than to line the pockets of the two British-level fighters. It’s a fight that is seen as lacking any sporting merit.
