RIO FERDINAND has slammed THREE Manchester United players for “cancerous energy”

The club legend believed that the trio must be sold in order to improve the squad.

The Red Devils slumped to their TENTH defeat in the Premier League on the weekend as they lost to Brighton.

The result has left Ruben Amorim’s side 13th in the table with the Portuguese manager labelling the team the “worst” in the club’s history.

Ferdinand, 46, has picked out three players from the team that must be sold.

The retired defender was asked about the futures of Marcus Rashford, Antony and Tyrell Malacia, to which he suggested they have a “cancerous, bad energy”.

Speaking on his podcast Rio Presents, he said: “I think Antony’s going, someone said to me, Real Betis or somewhere like that.

“Just get them out man.

“Sorry, no, I’m just being honest.

“The more these type of guys are around, where there’s just a bad noise, they all want to go, they’re all happy to go.

“Let’s just get them out. Let’s start afresh.

“You know what it’s like, if there’s people who are unsettled in there and it’s not going to plan and they’re not happy, it spreads.

Reasons to be positive under Ruben Amorim

“It’s like a cancerous, bad energy.”

Antony is closing in on a loan move to the LaLiga outfit Real Betis despite costing £86million back in 2022.

Man United will be expected to cover part of the Brazilian’s £200,000-per-week wages.

Rashford claimed he is ready for a “new challenge” back in December.

The forward has a host of clubs interested in his signature, including the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham.

Malacia, however, has struggled at Old Trafford with 18 months of injury hell.

He finally regained fitness in November but is yet to get regular game time under Amorim.
