Red Bull will end its 14-year hiatus from the NASCAR Cup championship as it will serve as Trackhouse Racing’s primary sponsor for the 2025 season.

The Austrian conglomerate, best known for its energy drinks brand, contested the Cup with its own team from 2006 to 2011 during which time Team Red Bull scored two race wins.

A lack of constant success drove it away from the series at the end of 2011, but it will return with a Red Bull-branded livery for Trackhouse.

“It’s an incredible chapter in the history of Trackhouse Racing to welcome Red Bull back to NASCAR,” said Trackhouse founder and owner Justin Marks.

“Red Bull is one of the most powerful brands in the world and it’s an honour for us to embark on a partnership with such an iconic company.

“This is a huge win for our sport and a moment that will resonate with the millions of NASCAR fans around the world.”

The drivers wearing the colours are already Red Bull athletes, as Shane van Gisbergen formed a partnership with the Austrian company in 2016. The Kiwi has since become a three-time Supercars champion before he joined NASCAR in 2023, winning on his Cup Series debut in Chicago.

Cup rookie Connor Zilisch, meanwhile, joined Red Bull’s books in 2024 during the same weekend that the 18-year-old won on his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Watkins Glen.

“I’m thrilled for Connor, Shane, and every member of Trackhouse to partner with who I consider to be the greatest motorsport company in the world,” added Marks.

“We are more than honoured to welcome Red Bull to the Trackhouse Racing family.”

The #88 Chevrolet of van Gisbergen will be Red Bull liveried at five Cup races this year – Las Vegas Motor Speedway (16 March), Sonoma Raceway (13 July), Iowa Speedway (3 August), Daytona International Speedway (23 August) and Kansas Speedway (28 September) – while the company will also sponsor Zilisch’s #87 Chevrolet on his championship debut at Circuit of the Americas (2 March).
