‘Really struggle to feel happy for him’ – Man Utd legend Paul Scholes slams ‘disgraceful’ Marcus Rashford for behaviour

PAUL SCHOLES admits he “really struggles to feel happy” for Marcus Rashford as he slammed the Manchester United misfit’s behaviour.

Rashford left the Red Devils for a loan move to Barcelona over the summer after being frozen out by Ruben Amorim.

The forward did not respond well to Amorim’s calls to work harder following the manager’s Old Trafford arrival last November.

And Rashford, 27, quickly made it clear that he wanted to leave United for a fresh start.

It saw the England man head to Aston Villa before Barca came calling.

Life in Spain appears to be suiting Rashford, who has two goals and two assists in seven matches under Hansi Flick.

Although he was dropped from the weekend’s win over Getafe after reportedly arriving late for a team meeting.

Rashford, who netted twice against Newcastle in the Champions League last week, has also earned a starting spot in Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions side.

But one man who is refusing to praise Rashford’s turnaround is Scholes.

The United legend instead took aim at the hitman’s behaviour, criticising him for forcing a move away from Amorim’s side.

Scholes admits that Rashford is a top talent.

However, he feels that the forward’s attitude at United was nothing short of a “disgrace.”

Scholes told The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast: “There’s no doubt the talent that kid has got.

“It’s ridiculous, he’s shown up in a big game and that second goal was brilliant.

“I really struggled to feel happy for him, to feel pleased for him. Mainly because of his attitude at United.

“The time he was leaving, I thought it was just a disgrace at United, not trying, basically.

“Look, if you fell out with a manager, then OK, but remember you’ve got teammates you’re playing with.

“You’ve got a massive 80,000 there, every single week that you have to put a bit of effort in.

“The amount of times I saw him at United walking because he wants to leave, I thought his whole demeanour was a disgrace.

“I think he actually quit on Man United. And once you quit once, you’ll quit again.”
