Ravens-Commanders blockbuster trade proposal sends $68 million All-Pro receiver to Baltimore

Ravens-Commanders blockbuster trade proposal sends million All-Pro receiver to Baltimore

The Baltimore Ravens are looking to finally make a run to the Super Bowl in 2025, but the team will have to upgrade the wide receiver room to do so.

Zay Flowers has developed into a dynamic playmaker for Baltimore, and Rashod Bateman had a breakout 2024 campaign with 756 yards and nine touchdowns. The Ravens also added DeAndre Hopkins on a one-year deal in free agency.

Though Flowers, Bateman, and Hopkins are a solid trio, acquiring another dynamic playmaker for quarterback Lamar Jackson should be a priority. Last Word on Sports’ Anthony Palacios believes Baltimore should try to pull off a blockbuster trade for Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin.

The Ravens are set on Zay Flowers at WR1 but even though there is some confidence in Rashod Bateman, many shouldn’t count out a trade possibility. DeAndre Hopkins is coming on a one-year deal, so they need a consistent receiver to replicate the performance of Flowers. Bateman might not last beyond two years, while McLaurin can.

The addition of Jayden Daniels at quarterback for Washington led to McLaurin having a phenomenal 2024 season, as the Ohio State product tallied 82 receptions for 1,096 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns. The 29-year-old notched his second Pro Bowl selection and also earned a second-team All-Pro nod.

McLaurin didn’t show up to an OTA practice on Wednesday, and with the star wideout having just one year left on his deal, FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz believes fans should keep an eye on the situation.

“Commanders All-Pro WR Terry McLaurin was not at practice today as offseason workouts continue. He had been a full participant previously and is entering the final year of his contract. Worth monitoring as Phase 3 of Washington’s program kicks off in under a week,” Schultz wrote on X.

If McLaurin hits the trade market, Baltimore should aggressively pursue the 2019 third-round pick. The two-time Pro Bowler would form an electric duo with Flowers and could be the missing piece that elevates the Ravens into the AFC favorite.

Obviously, it’s hard to envision a scenario where McLaurin isn’t a Commander in 2025. However, with his contract up at the end of the year, Baltimore should be monitoring his situation closely. Jackson throwing touchdowns to Flowers and McLaurin would be an amazing sight to see, though it likely isn’t possible this year.
