Total amount raised now stands at more than £125,000 between 2021 – 2024. The club is also on track to raise another £30,000 this year.

Ramsdale Park Golf Centre is celebrating an extraordinary display of endurance, spirit, and generosity after Club Captain, Daryl Woolley and PGA Professional, Jack Stoppard completed a gruelling 100 holes of golf in a single day – raising an impressive £3,450 for charity.

The funds raised will be added to Ramsdale Park’s growing annual charity total. An incredible £32,000 was raised last year alone, and the club’s fundraising will support two meaningful causes: Emmanuel House, a Nottingham-based homelessness charity, and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Speaking after the event, Ramsdale Park Golf Centre’s General Manager, Theresa Plimmer, said: “To see Daryl and Jack smiling from start to finish – even through the exhaustion – was truly inspirational. This wasn’t just a test of stamina it was a celebration of what Ramsdale Park stands for.

Generosity, togetherness, and grit. The charities Daryl has chosen are close to our hearts, and I’m so proud of the members and staff who come together to make things like this possible. Ramsdale Park really is more than a golf club, it’s a community.”

Teeing off at 4:00am, the duo was joined in the early dark hours by General Manager, Theresa Plimmer, and club Handicap Secretary, Mark Northern, for the first nine holes, setting the tone for a remarkable day of fundraising. From there, Daryl and Jack walked every hole, battling fatigue, soreness, and the summer heat.

The original plan was to conquer 99 holes, but when Ramsdale Park’s spirited starter ‘Brutal Brian’ pledged an extra £100 for just one more, they didn’t flinch. With aching legs but unwavering commitment, they dug deep and completed their 100th hole, met by cheers from Ramsdale Park members who turned out in support.

This achievement is just the latest example of the club’s vibrant culture and inclusive spirit. Jack Stoppard, who is a cornerstone of Ramsdale Park’s ‘Pathway to Golf’ programme, continues to mentor the next generation of golfers through his work with juniors, ensuring the future of the sport is both accessible and exciting.

One of the primary beneficiaries, Emmanuel House, provides essential support to people who are homeless, rough sleeping, or at risk of homelessness in Nottingham.

From hot meals to housing support, their work is a lifeline for many, and Ramsdale Park is proud to help contribute towards their mission. To learn more about Emmanuel House or to offer your support, visit: www.emmanuelhouse.org.uk
