The Las Vegas Raiders have some tough decisions to make over the next week with the NFL draft approaching.
Many expect them to take a running back in the first round, but if they find a franchise quarterback when they’re on the board in the first round, or love one in the second round, there could be a scenario where drafting a quarterback makes sense.
There are a few options to consider, including Quinn Ewers of Texas. The former Texas standout has a polarizing draft profile, with some expecting him to be selected relatively late in the draft.
However, he sent a positive message to the Raiders, speaking about what he’s enjoyed when speaking with the team so far. Ewers met with the Raiders, and according to the Longhorns alumni, he loved Coach Pete Carroll and everything about the organization.
“It’s been a surreal moment for me, and I’m just trying to enjoy it,” Quinn Ewers said on “The Rich Eisen Show.” “Coach Carroll was amazing – you know, he’s always talking about competing, competing, competing. I think he probably says that word about 100 times a day.
“Coach Carroll is awesome; he’s always talking about ‘compete, compete, compete,'” said Ewers. “It’d be super cool to be part of a program, part of a franchise that they live and die by how they compete.”
