PSG manager Luis Enrique rushed to hospital and into emergency surgery after cycling accident

LUIS ENRIQUE was rushed to the hospital after suffering an accident while out on his bike.

The incident, which resulted in Enrique coming off his bike, happened on Friday.

The Paris Saint-Germain manager was immediately transported to the hospital, where it was discovered he’d fractured his collarbone.

Enrique, thankfully, hasn’t suffered any further serious injuries.

But the 55-year-old is set to undergo surgery to repair his collarbone.

PSG announced news of Enrique’s accident in a statement on their social media channels.

It read: “Following a cycling accident on Friday, Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique was treated by the emergency services and will undergo surgery for a fractured collarbone.

“The Club expresses its full support and wishes him a swift recovery. Further updates will be shared in due course.”

Footie fans around the world flocked to social media to send their heartfelt well-wishes to the former Barcelona manager and player.

One wrote on X: “.”Hope he recovers fast, wishing him the best.”

Another said: “Speedy recovery.”

And another said: “Damn. Speedy recovery.”

Club World Cup final descends into huge brawl as PSG manager Luis Enrique SLAPS Chelsea’s Joao Pedro in face

One remarked: “Wish him well.”

Another chimed in: “Damn, that sucks. Speedy recovery, coach!”

It’s unclear at this moment in time if Enrique was knocked off his bike by a vehicle or if he came off by himself.

Enrique is a keen cyclist and competes in gruelling races whenever he can.

In March 2023, he completed a gruelling EIGHT-DAY 700KM race in South Africa.

Enrique oversaw a historic treble for French champions Paris Saint-Germain last season.

He ended the club’s long wait for Champions League glory last May with a record 5-0 win over Inter Milan in the Munich final.

His troops, however, came up short against Chelsea in the final of the Club World Cup in July.

Enrique made the headlines for SLAPPING Blues newboy Joao Pedro after the final whistle.

He somehow escaped punishment for his actions, which he defended by saying: “At the end of the game, there is a situation that I believe is totally avoidable by everyone.

“My goal and intention, as always, is to try to separate the players so that there are no more problems.

“Avoidable situation. There is a lot of tension, a lot, a lot of pressure.

“And from there, there is a series of pushes by many people that I think we should all avoid and that should not happen again.

“But I repeat, my intention as always, to avoid any situation that goes further.”

PSG have enjoyed a perfect start to the 2025/26 season, with the most recent of their three straight wins being a 6-3 triumph over Toulouse.

Enrique’s charges will be back in action a week on Sunday, welcoming Lens to the Parc des Princes.
