Primeira Liga final day LIVE RESULTS: Sporting WIN title as Benfica falter – latest reaction

FULLTIME – Sporting WIN the title

A 2-0 win does at home, in front of their fans against Vitoria as Benfica learn about their faith at Braga, who coincidentally celebrate their rivals’ loss to the title winners.

The Lions were gutted midseason as Ruben Amorim left but they remained in the hunt, kept their composure and secured their second championship.

  • Sporting – 82pts
  • Benfica – 80pts

Benfica, who played on an additional three minutes now know it’s all over, as celebrations get underway at the José Alvalade Stadium.

AVS will face a playoff vs Vizela to determine their top-flight status, whilst Farense and Boavista are relegated.

Braga 1-1 Benfica

The title challengers make another throw of the dice change as striker Arthur Cabral comes on for midfielder Orkun Kökçü.

The Braga fans are jumping, celebrating really.

Across the country, the Sporting fans join them as the title is all but reached its conclusion.
