SHEFFIELD UNITED are tracking Icelandic striker Daniel Gudjohnsen, in case they come into money.
Blades sent their top spy to check out the teenage hotshot — son of Chelsea hero Eidur — for Swedish side Malmo in a Champions League qualifier last week.
Gudjohnsen, 19, is fancied to move on, with England a favoured destination.
The Gudjohnsen family have a strong football heritage, with Daniel’s grandad Arnor earning 73 caps for Iceland.
Eidur won back-to-back Premier League titles with Chelsea as well as La Liga and the Champions League with Barcelona.
The three sons of Eidur are following in his footsteps.
Daniel’s older brother Andri, 23, plays as a centre forward for Belgian Pro League club Gent and the Iceland national team.
The eldest, Sveinn, 27, plays as a forward for Norwegian club Sarpsborg as well as his country.
Daniel has been capped by Iceland’s youth sides, but has not yet received a senior call-up.
His youth career spanned Gava, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Malmo.
He made his first-team debut for Malmo in 2023 and On 1 December last year he scored a hat-trick in a 5–2 win over Torslanda IK in the second round of the Swedish Cup.
In June 2002, Eidur was signed by the Blues for £4.5 million and was the second striker signed that pre-season after Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
