Ryan Garcia and Bill Haney, Devin Haney’s dad, got into a back-and-forth argument today during Ryan’s workout session ahead of his fight this Friday, May 2nd, on DAZN PPV, against Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero at Times Square in New York City.
Bill was filming Ryan’s workout, which upset him, as he saw it as a sneaky, early scouting mission by Papa Haney between his son and him. Ryan stopped his workout when he saw Bill filming him.
Workout Disrupted
The two then argued back and forth. Bill appeared to get annoyed that Garcia stopped his workout session, which further reinforced the idea that he was filming for strategic purposes. Given the thrashing Garcia dished out to Haney last April, Bill is doing everything he can to help his son figure out how to defeat Ryan.
Later, Ryan’s dad, Henry Garcia, spoke to Bill Haney, with the two reportedly arguing back and forth. Kingry’s coaching team believes that Devin and Bill are too focused on Ryan, and early filming is a sign that they’re fixated. That could be a big mistake because Devin still must win his fight this Friday against Jose Ramirez. Those two are fighting on the Ryan vs. Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero undercard.
Kingry beat Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) last April in a one-sided fight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. It was a tough loss for Haney, as he was dropped three times and looked like he had a jaw problem at the end. The results were later overturned and changed to a no contest after Garcia tested positive for Ostarine.
