The Pittsburgh Steelers made a massive splash on Sunday night, with the team acquiring wide receiver DK Metcalf in a blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks.

In case you missed it, the Steelers are sending the Seahawks a second- and seventh-round pick in 2025 for a sixth-round pick in the same year and Metcalf. And, to ensure he does not leave after one season, the Steelers have inked Metcalf to a monster five-year, $150 million deal.

The Steelers had a major weakness at wide receiver dating back to last offseason, when the team traded Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers.

General manager Omar Khan was in the dog house with Steelers fans after the best he could come up with was Mike Williams, but this deal completely changes all that and puts Khan back in their good graces for the time being.

In the wake of the blockbuster trade with the Seahawks, kicker Chris Boswell, safety DeShon Elliott and cornerback Beanie Bishop all took the social media to react to the deal (screenshots courtesy of Steelers Depot).

The Steelers now sport one of the best duos in the NFL in George Pickens and Metcalf, both of whom are game-changing wide receivers. Defenses had been able to focus squarely on Pickens, but that is no longer the case with the two-time Pro Bowler there to help out.

All that is assuming the Steelers don’t turn around and trade Pickens, which has been speculated about in the wake of the trade. However, we don’t see that happening, as the Steelers would erase the progress they made on Sunday.

Instead, we fully expect to see Pickens and Metcalf on the same field together in 2025. What we don’t know right now is who will be throwing them passes, as Pittsburgh has yet to secure a starting quarterback.
