Today’s press conference in Miami, Florida, made for more fun between Gervonta Davis and Jake Paul, with a shove by Tank, celebrities, and a large side bet. The face-off between them was the high point of the press conference, with the 6’1″ Jake Paul towering over the 5’5 1/2″ Tank Davis.
The press conference was to hype the Paul-Davis event on November 14 on Netflix from the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. During today’s press conference, streamer Adin Ross bet Gervonta Davis $2 million that he couldn’t knock out Jake Paul. Tank pounced on the bet, looking eager to increase his estimated $40 million purse.
Unfazed by the Aggression
“I didn’t even notice it at first. I want to see the replay. I don’t think I moved at all,” said Jake Paul, when asked about being shoved by Gervonta Davis during today’s press conference in Miami, Florida. “I didn’t see it coming. He’s a fast guy, but that’s what makes this fight interesting.”
Tank’s push of Jake during the face-off barely moved him. Trying to push the 200+ lb Paul back wasn’t easy for Davis, and he didn’t get quite enough power to move him.
It would be fun to see Jake push Gervonta back to see how far he would move. It’s unclear what Paul said during the face-off to make him want to shove him. He initially had a partial smile on his face, but then it changed right before he pushed him. Jake had to have said something to get Davis to push him.
Paul’s Star-Studded Sparring Camp
“Montana Love is coming in. Shakur Stevenson. Jamaine Ortiz, we’re going to hit up. Erickson Lubin. So, we’re going to bring in some fast, shifty southpaws,” said Paul about fighters that he’ll be sparring to prepare by helping out with sparring.
That would be interesting to see a sparring session between Jake Paul and WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson. The size difference would be just as significant as that between Jake and Tank Davis. The difference is that Shakur is hard to hit due to his reflexes and his habit of using the three-foot step back.
