Unbeaten super Middleweight contender Osleys Iglesias (12-0, 11 KOs) will be fighting Petro Ivanov (18-0-2, 13 KOs) in the 12-round headliner this Thursday, November 7th, at the Casino de Montreal in Montreal, Canada. The event will be shown live on ESPN+ at 6:30 p.m. ET.

This will be another great opportunity for the 26-year-old Iglesias to be seen by U.S. and Canadian fans because he’s not been given a lot of chances to get notoriety in his young career. It would be easier if Iglesias were being given a major push by the promoters and networks like other fighters. He’s not been given the chance yet.

The Cuba-born Iglesias, 6’2 “, is ranked #5 WBC and #7 IBF at 168 and is looking to put himself in position for a world title or fight against some of the notable contenders in the division. Recent knockout wins this year over Sena Agbeko, Evgency Shvedenko, and Marcelo Coceres.

Of the top super middleweights in the division now, the southpaw Iglesias is the biggest threat to WBA, WBC, and WBO champion Canelo Alvarez. That’s also why Canelo will likely avoid Iglesias just like his fellow countryman, David Morrell, was during his time at 168—speaking of Morrell. Iglesias defeated Morrell in the amateurs when the two were teenagers in Cuba in April 2015.

The two fighters Iglesias had problems with the fighters in the amateurs were two-time Cuban Olympic gold medalist Arlen Lopez, who he lost to five times, and Israil Madrimov of Uzbekistan.

Iglesias must target the IBF belt held by William Scull at super middleweight because it is the most reliable path to a world title.

Also on the card is Steven Butler facing Fernando Farias in the chief support bout at 168, scheduled for eight rounds.
