Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois 2: DAZN PPV Price and Event Details Revealed

The heavyweight clash between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois 2, set for a DAZN PPV price, has been revealed for their fight next month on July 19th at Wembley Stadium in London, England.  This event is priced at $59.99 for U.S fans, and £24.99 in the UK.

U.S. vs. UK Pricing

While British fans are fine with the pay-per-view price, Americans view this as too steep, and unworthy of being sold at $59.99. Dubois and Usyk are NOT big stars in the U.S. Neither fighter is popular and likely never will be in this lifetime. They’re missing that spark that Americans crave for them to be popular.

As good as the 38-year-old unified three-belt heavyweight champion Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) is, he’s not a must-watch for the U.S fans. He’s just a regular fighter who exposed the over-hyped, carefully maneuvered British heavyweights Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. He showed they were both fakes all along. I already knew it.

July 19th PPV Card

– Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois 2
– Moses Itauma vs. TBA

It’s a bad sign that we’re one month away from the Usyk-Dubois 2 event, and the undercard is still being fleshed out. When you see that, it’s a red flag for disaster. That’s another reason why this PPV event should be free of charge for Americans.

Proposed Price Adjustment

The U.S pay-per-view price needs some adjustment to attract buys. Dropping the price to $10 to $15 might be the trick because otherwise, it’s not going to sell to Americans. U.S. fans don’t highly regard the sometimes mentally fragile Dubois. Ideally, this should be for free for Americans because these are not their fighters.

This is more of a UK-type PPV event for their consumption, similar to this Saturday’s Fabio Wardley vs. Justis Huni clash. U.S fans have NO interest whatsoever in that clash.

Usyk is seen as a finesse fighter with a style that doesn’t resonate with Americans. His style of fighting is more akin to fencing, amateur-like, and that doesn’t appeal much to U.S. fans.

Skeletal Undercard Concerns

The undercard is still just a skeleton. The only fighter on the undercard is British heavyweight Moses Itauma, who will face an opponent yet to be determined. His opponent is rumored to be either recently twice-beaten Otto Wallin or Jermaine Franklin.

Itauma would be the co-feature. WBO interim heavyweight champion Joseph Parker has expressed interest in fighting on the undercard against 41-year-old journeyman Derek Chisora, but that fight is doubtful. What an awful fight that would be.
