Shai Gilgeous-Alexander produced a 50-point haul as he helped Western Conference leaders Oklahoma City Thunder to a 140-109 victory against the Phoenix Suns.
The Suns had led by 12 late in the second quarter before the Thunder outscored their rivals 43-16 in the third quarter on the way to victory.
Gilgeous-Alexander has scored 50 or more points three times in his career, with all of them coming in the last seven games.
He scored three three-pointers and made 11 of his 12 free throws against the Suns, who are 10th in the Western Conference.
“Just trying to be aggressive, play basketball and take what the defence gives me,” said Gilgeous-Alexander.
Elsewhere, French sensation Victor Wembanyama’s free throw with 2.4 seconds left gave the San Antonio Spurs a dramatic 126-125 win against the Atlanta Hawks.
Wembanyama and team-mate De’Aaron Fox, who was playing his first game for the Spurs, both scored 24 points for their side, while Trae Young scored a game-high 32 points for the Hawks.
Anthony Edwards registered 49 points, which included six three-pointers, as he helped the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 127-108 victory against the Chicago Bulls.
Meanwhile, Miami Heat, who beat the Philadelphia 76ers 108-101, are reportedly set to trade Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors.
The six-time NBA All-Star was recently suspended indefinitely by the Heat after a “continued pattern of disregard of team rules”.
It followed Butler having already been suspended twice by his team in January for disciplinary issues.
