NOTTINGHAM FOREST took a huge blow to their Champions League hopes after falling to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Brentford.
Forest are chasing down a dream European return after 46 years away from club football’s biggest tournament, but were stung by the Bees on a wet night at the City Ground.
Goals from Kevin Schade and Yoane Wissa were the hammer blows to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, who have now lost four of their last five games in all competitions.
Now Forest will face an uphill battle to return to Europe’s elite, sitting outside the top five behind Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle.
Meanwhile Brenford have taken a step towards the top half of the table, now just one point off tenth placed Bournemouth.
