Nina Meinke Undergoes Emergency Spinal Surgery

IBF Champion NIna Meinke  Faces Long Road Back With Just 20% Full Recovery Chance

Nina Meinke, Germany’s IBF featherweight champ, has undergone emergency back surgery after months of crippling pain and a diagnosis that put both her career and mobility on the line. The surgery was triggered by a severely compressed nerve threatening permanent damage to her right leg.

Doctors had to act fast. The alternative was losing function—possibly for good.

Now the operation’s done, but the outlook isn’t good. She’s facing a long, rough road, with just a 20% chance of full recovery.

What exactly happened to Meinke?

What started as back and leg pain turned serious fast. A nerve in her lower spine was getting crushed to the point she was days away from losing all feeling in her right leg.

Once scans confirmed the damage, Meinke was rushed into surgery under a top spinal specialist. The operation worked, but the odds are stacked against her.

There is a bit of hope—she’s already regained some movement. It’s early, but it matters.

Rehab kicks off in 2–3 weeks.

What did Meinke say ?

Meinke broke the silence with a blunt update:

“I know many people were wondering why I suddenly disappeared from the public eye. The truth is, I was enduring the worst pain of my life.”

“It was a total shock to find out I needed immediate surgery—with just a 20% chance of a full recovery. I was right in the middle of planning a major new project and talking about future fights when I got the news.”

“Right now, my only goal is to take it step by step, getting back to life, and hopefully, back into the ring.”

For now, it’s all about recovery. The fight game can wait.

Everyone at BoxingNews24.com wishes Nina Meinke a full and successful recovery.
