There are officially four teams remaining in the 2025 NFL playoffs and the road to Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans is coming to an end.

Over the course of the divisional round, we lost one of the No. 1 seeds after the Lions fell to the Commanders at home last Saturday. On the other side of the bracket, the AFC’s top-seeded Chiefs are on their way to a seventh straight AFC Championship Game.

Championship weekend gets going with the NFC matchup, as the Eagles will host the Commanders in Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon. The AFC will crown a champion on Sunday evening when the Bills make a trip to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Chiefs.

AFC, NFC championship game matchups

AFC — No. 1 Kansas City Chiefs vs. No. 2 Buffalo Bills

It’s straight chalk on the AFC side of the bracket; the No. 1 seed and No. 2 seed will meet in the AFC Championship Game.

The Buffalo Bills will head west to Kansas City to square off with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. After a string of heartbreaking losses in the divisional round, Buffalo is back to the conference championship for the first time since 2020 – a game they lost to Mahomes and company.

On the other side of the ball, it’s business as usual. Kansas City has been in the AFC Championship Game every year since 2018 and they’ll now look to punch their ticket to the Super Bowl for the the fourth time in six years. If all goes according to plan, they’ll have the opportunity to pull off the first three-peat in NFL history.

NFC — No. 2 Philadelphia Eagles vs. No. 6 Washington Commanders

Just one season after winning four games, the Commanders are headed to the NFC Championship Game, their first appearance in the conference championship since the 1991 season.

In order to punch their ticket to the Super Bowl, Jayden Daniels and company will have to head into Philadelphia and take down the No. 2-seeded Eagles. After coming up just short in Super Bowl 57, the Eagles are in the midst of a redemption tour and will do whatever it takes for a chance to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

As divisional foes, these two teams have already met twice this season. They split the series, with the Commanders’ win coming in a thrilling comeback victory in Week 16. Given each team’s familiarity with one another, this could be a gritty, hard-fought battle.
