Aaron Rodgers remains a free agent and also remains as the most talked about storyline in the NFL. The former Green Bay Packers’ superstar and New York Jets quarterback is pondering his future in the league.
While many expect him to end up signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers, that is not a guarantee at this point in time.
It appears that Rodgers really wanted to sign with the Minnesota Vikings. Unfortunately for him, the Vikings did not share that same level of interest in the future Hall of Fame quarterback.
Now, an NFL insider has reveled a major updated about Rodgers and his potential future.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport believes that while it seems the Steelers are the likely suitor for Rodgers, retirement is very much an option as well.
“It seems that for Rodgers, it’s going to be the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Rapoport said. “Certainly, the team he visited, certainly the leader in the clubhouse for Aaron Rodgers. Or he’s gonna say, you know what, ‘I’m not gonna play this year,’ or ‘I’m not gonna play right now.’ That’s still up in the air.”

Some have speculated that Rodgers could remain a free agent into the 2025 NFL season. He would remain ready to play and would have interest if the right situation opened up due to injuries throughout the year.
That could be a good strategy for the 41-year-old signal caller if he isn’t sold on the situation in Pittsburgh.
Fans and teams are ready for this to be over. The New York Giants went ahead and moved on from the idea of signing Rodgers. They signed both Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson.
Right now, it seems that Rodgers is down to the Steelers as a potential option. However, he’s waiting to see if anything else opens up and to decide whether or not he truly wants to keep playing.
