ESPN insider Adam Schefter threw some gas on the fire revolving around Aaron Rodgers’ potential home next year.
In response to former Pittsburgh Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger’s take that Rodgers is “secretly” waiting for the Minnesota Vikings to come calling, Schefter said that is “clearly” the case.
After the Giants signed Russell Wilson and the Vikings seemingly committed to J.J. McCarthy, the Steelers seem to be Rodgers’ only real option left.
But Rodgers might secretly — or not-so-secretly – be hoping a different home becomes a reality.
“I think Aaron secretly is still holding out for Minnesota, which is why he hasn’t signed with the Steelers,” Roethlisberger, the former Steelers QB who led them to two Super Bowl titles, said on his “Footbahlin” podcast this week. “Why else would you go throw with DK and be working out and put it out, blast it to everybody that I’m throwing to these guys, but you won’t sign?”

Roethlisberger later said he believes Rodgers will ultimately be a Steeler, which seems like the most logical solution here.
“To be honest with you, not really a lot of options out there for you,” Roethlisberger went on to say.
Rodgers threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in an otherwise disappointing season with the Jets.
