In recent days, there were many rumors that legendary former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is about to be released by the New York Jets, had his sights set on joining the Los Angeles Rams. In fact, it was believed that were he to join the Rams, he would bring Davante Adams, the former Packers standout wide receiver, with him.

But that possibility disappeared on Friday when the Rams chose to hold onto incumbent QB1 Matthew Stafford while also agreeing to restructure his contract.

Another report indicated that Rodgers had reached out to another NFC team — the New York Giants — and there appears to be some mutual interest between the two parties.

Plenty seem to feel that Rodgers wouldn’t be a good option for the dismal Giants, who badly need a quarterback for not only the 2025 season but also the foreseeable future. The New York Post issued a stern warning to the team about bringing in the 41-year-old future Hall of Famer.

Rodgers’ numbers in 2024 — 3,897 passing yards and 28 touchdown passes — weren’t exactly terrible. But he posted the lowest passer rating and yards gained per pass attempt he has ever had in a full season, and he’s clearly not the same transcendent player he was just a few years ago in Green Bay when he won his two most recent MVP awards.

The Giants moved on from the disappointing Daniel Jones midway through this season, and bringing in Rodgers would likely result in more pain and disappointment for a fan base that is already disgusted about some organizational miscues over the last couple of years.
