New Porsche factory driver Nico Muller will make his sportscar debut with the German marque at this weekend’s Sebring 12 Hours round of the IMSA SportsCar Championship.
Muller, who has been placed by Porsche at the Andretti Formula E team for the 2024/25 season, will race the customer 963 LMDh fielded by the JDC-Miller MotorSports squad alongside full-season drivers Gianmaria Bruni and Tijmen van der Helm.
The drive in the second round of IMSA 2025 appears to put Muller in contention for the vacant seat alongside Nick Tandy and Felipe Nasr in the third factory Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 entered for the Le Mans 24 Hours World Endurance Championship round.
The 33-year-old follows fellow factory Porsche driver Pascal Wehrlein in racing for JDC-Miller this year: the 2023/24 FE world champion contested the season-opening Daytona 24 Hours.
Porsche has one vacancy for its Le Mans squad because it has downsized its LMDh squad from 10 to eight drivers for 2025.
Muller, who moved to Porsche at the end of last year from Peugeot’s WEC squad, described his Sebring appearance as a “last-minute project”.
“I can’t wait to turn my first laps in the Porsche 963 and compete in my first prestigious Sebring 12 Hours,” said the Swiss, who raced for Peugeot in the WEC fixture on the IMSA bill at the Florida circuit in 2023 and with the Vector Sport LMP2 team in 2022.

“I loved following the IMSA action during the 12 Hours – it’s known as the toughest race on the IMSA calendar.”
He expressed confidence that he will quickly get to grips with Porsche’s LMDh with the support of JDC-Miller, Bruni and van der Helm.
“That strong foundation will speed up my 963 learning process,” explained Muller, whose only previous IMSA start came in the 2022 Daytona 24 Hours with the High Class Racing LMP2 squad.
JDC-Miller boss John Church said: “Adding Nico to our already strong driver line-up with Tijmen and Gimmi builds on the confidence we have coming off our very strong run at Daytona [to sixth place].
“Thanks to our friends at Porsche for all their efforts in making it happen.”
