Every once and awhile, a quarterback and a wide receiver just get into a rhythm that simply cannot be stopped. The two are connecting on a whole different level, and there is nothing the opposing secondary can do about it.

The result is a jaw-dropping stat line for the receiver, typically compiling of three digits in the receiving yards column. So far in 2024, Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase has that honor.

One of Cincinnati’s star receivers, the fourth-year pro put up a show in enemy territory, as he and QB star Joe Burrow terrorized the Ravens secondary in Week 10 The duo accounted for 11 catches for 264 yards and three touchdowns, the most in a game yet out of a wide receiver in 2024.

Despite his effort, it was not enough for a win. Cincinnati brought the game to one with 38 seconds left on Chase’s third touchdown, but the offense could not come through on the two-point conversion, falling to their division rivals.

Still, Chase’s outing was enough to write him in the NFL history books — even if it didn’t even pass his career high for yards in one game.

Most receiving yards in single game in NFL history

There have been a plethora of players to hit 200 yards, and only six players to reach 300. However, there is just one player who has the bragging rights of saying they hauled in over 330 yards in a single game.

That honor still belongs to Rams wide receiver Willie ‘Flipper’ Anderson, who put up a jaw-dropping 336 yards in a 1989 game against the Saints. Not many have threatened the record, however, Lions legend Calvin Johnson put up a fair fight, recording the second-most with 329 in 2013.

Just last season, now-Bills member Amari Cooper entered the top 20 with a 263-yard performance for the Browns in December of the 2023 season. He and QB Joe Flacco connected for 18 catches and two touchdowns in a win over the Texans.

Chase now has two performances with over 260 yards. He first put up 266 in a big victory against the Chiefs in 2022, and then nearly matched that with 264 in a loss to the Ravens during the 2024 season.
