Moses Itauma Climbs into Ring Magazine’s Latest Heavyweight Rankings

Moses Itauma has climbed to the #10 spot in the Ring Magazine’s updated heavyweight rankings after his first-round knockout win over Dillian Whyte last Saturday night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Moses’ Rise to Power

The victory by the 20-year-old Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) showed boxing analysts that he could be a force in the division. Fans are waiting to see how he performs against an actual quality opponent that offers some resistance.

Ring Magazine’s Updated Heavyweight Rankings

Champion: Oleksandr Usyk

  1. Tyson Fury
  2. Joseph Parker
  3. Agit Kabayel
  4. Daniel Dubois
  5. Anthony Joshua
  6. Filip Hrgovic
  7. Fabio Wardley
  8. Zhilei Zhang
  9. Martin Bakole
  10. Moses Itauma

Turki Alalahikh expressed interest in Itauma challenging champion Oleksandr Usyk for his undisputed heavyweight championship after Moses’ win over Dillian Whyte last Saturday night. Beating Usyk would push Itauma higher in The Ring Magazine rankings.

Tyson Fury’s Retirement Status

#1-ranked Tyson Fury retired earlier this year on January 13th, 2025. Earlier this month, Fury reiterated that he’s staying retired in an interview with Sky Sports, saying “Never” when asked if he’ll resume his career. He mentioned that he’d seen “gray” in his beard and that boxing is a “Young man’s game.” Ring Magazine has still ranked Fury at the #1 spot despite his retirement and his decision to stay there.

WBO mandatory Parker is waiting for a title shot against Usyk after the fight was ordered. The two fighters were ordered to begin negotiations on July 24th, 2025. The outcome of that fight will change The Ring Magazine’s rankings if Parker can dethrone the champion Usyk. If Usyk chooses not to face Parker, he’ll be stripped of the title.

Ring Magazine has chosen to keep Dubois high on the list at #4 despite his fifth-round knockout loss on July 19th in their rematch at Wembley Stadium in England.

Anthony Joshua is also coming off a knockout loss on September 21st last year against Dubois.
