Moment Diego Simeone abruptly walks out of press conference after refusing to answer question about Liverpool bust-up

DIEGO SIMEONE abruptly walked out of his post-match press conference after refusing to answer more questions over his Liverpool fan bust-up.

The Atletico Madrid boss was embroiled in a row with an Anfield fan after seeing his side concede a 91st minute winner.

Simeone’s Atleti had fought back from two goals down to level the game at 2-2.

But they were left shattered when Virgil van Dijk’s injury time header secured the three points for Liverpool.

Simeone was then immediately involved in a bust-up with a Reds fan sat behind the bench.

He had to be restrained by security during the shouting match.

And when Simeone approached the referee straight after, he was given a red card.

The Argentine boss has since claimed he was “insulted” by the fan all evening.

Simeone bemoaned how managers are expected to put up with crude remarks without being able to respond.

In his post-match presser, the two-time LaLiga title winner was then asked about the nature of the “insults.”

One journalist questioned if the abuse had anything to do with him being Argentinian.

Simeone answered: “I’m not really going to get into the exact nature of the insults.

“I don’t want to get into that discussion. I’ve got to stay in my place.

“I know what went on behind the bench but I can’t solve society’s problems in one press conference.

“I’ve got to live with it because it exists all over the place, all the time.”

Simeone was then asked if the referee explained the situation to him while producing a red card.

But he appeared to have grown tired of talking about the incident.

The gaffer simply stared before saying “no”.

Simeone then took off his headphones and stormed off without another word.

Fans had mixed reactions in the comments, with one saying: “Aura.”

Another declared: “Sore loser.”

One noted: “I don’t blame him.”

Another added: “Completely succeeded in deflecting the loss.”
