Mets 3B Mark Vientos left Saturday afternoon’s game against the Cardinals early due to groin discomfort.
It’s unknown when exactly the injury occurred.
Vientos was replaced by Brett Baty in the field in the top of the fifth inning and he immediately made an impact — throwing Thomas Saggese out at the plate attempting to score on a grounder to third.
Vientos finished the day 0-for-2 with a ground out and a pop out.
