Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo was removed from Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a stiff neck, the team announced.

After an hour-plus rain delay, Jeff McNeil replaced Nimmo in left field. It’s unknown what caused Nimmo’s ailment, but the veteran outfielder collided with the wall robbing Will Smith of extra bases in the second inning.

Nimmo struck out in his only at-bat in Friday’s game. The left-hander is hitting .212 with eight home runs and driving in 27 RBI across 49 games this season.
