Matt Kuchar Withdraws from 2025 RBC Canadian Open Amid Field Shake-Up

Matt Kuchar has withdrawn from the 2025 RBC Canadian Open just days before the tournament begins. The PGA TOUR confirmed his withdrawal on Tuesday, June 3. No official reason was provided.

Kuchar is a nine-time PGA TOUR winner with over $60 million in career earnings. He was set to compete at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in Caledon, Ontario. The event runs from June 5 to 8. Golf fans interested in online gaming should visit nyttcasino.com, which offers great fun and entertainment.

The 46-year-old was coming off a tie for 25th at the Memorial Tournament. He also finished T47 at the PGA Championship. Despite a strong career, his 2025 season has been inconsistent. He currently ranks 129th in the FedExCup standings with just over $630,000 in earnings.

Kuchar’s spot will be taken by Dylan Wu. Wu is a rookie on tour with around $3 million in career earnings.

His withdrawal is one of several late changes to the Canadian Open field. Sahith Theegala also pulled out due to a recurring neck injury. Taylor Dickson (also referred to as Dickinson) has withdrawn for unspecified reasons. Cameron Champ and Taylor Montgomery have been added as replacements.

Even with these exits, the tournament still features a strong lineup. World No. 2 Rory McIlroy returns to the field. He is a two-time winner of the event, with victories in 2019 and 2022. Defending champion Robert MacIntyre will also tee it up, along with Shane Lowry, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, and Canadian star Corey Conners.

The RBC Canadian Open is one of the most historic events on the PGA TOUR. First played in 1904, it is the third-oldest tournament on the schedule, behind The Open and the U.S. Open.

This year’s edition carries a $9.8 million purse. With the U.S. Open just a week away, many top players are using this event as a final tune-up. Despite the withdrawals, fans can still expect a competitive week of golf in Ontario.
