Concern was pretty immediate on Sunday morning.

Toronto Maple Leafs star Auston Matthews wasn’t on the ice for morning skate ahead of Game 4 vs. the Florida Panthers down south.

But then the good news.

Reporters on the scene indicated that Matthews is getting rest, and the team says he is “good to go” for Sunday night’s game.

Matthews has not been his usual self yet in this series, despite the Leafs holding a 2-1 lead.

The superstar from Arizona hasn’t recorded a goal through the first three games. He does have three assists.

Matthews has been a bit off target on some of his shots, but the Maple Leafs of course are saying all the right things about not being concerned.

One plus for Matthews so far in the postseason: He leads the NHL by a mile in faceoffs run (106), the only guy with at least 90.

It’ll be interesting to see if Matthews’ ice time changes at all on Sunday night.

But for now, at least based on what Toronto is saying, the lack of morning skate is just a false alarm, and Matthews is just fine.
