Manchester United stars determined to keep winning so loyal fan can finally cut hair after 500-day saga

MAN UNITED stars are determined to continue on their winning run – so that a fan can finally get his hair cut.

Supporter Frank Ilett has spent almost 500 days without a trim after pledging not to get his locks cut until United won five games in a row.

But the under-performing stars have left him with a huge curly afro after their stop-start performances.

Now United’s players – buoyant after three stunning wins against arch rivals Man City, Premier League leaders Arsenal and Fulham under the leadership of Michael Carrick – want to keep up their good form so Frank, 29, can get a trim.

A source said: “The players are really enjoying their recent upturn in fortune and the vibe at the training ground is very positive.

“They are well aware of Frank because he pops up on their social media.

Some of them were having a laugh and a joke and said: ‘Come on, let’s give this guy a haircut’.”

Frank, who was born in Oxford but lives in Spain, pledged on 5 October 2024 that he would not cut his hair until United won five consecutive games.

But he – like millions of other United fans around the world – could not have imagined how long that journey would take.

Three weeks later Erik ten Hag was sacked and Ruben Amorim was appointed head coach before he was relieved of his duties in January, with Carrick taking over on a temporary basis.

Frank’s lighthearted challenge has become a viral phenomenon with millions following his journey on social media.

If and when he does finally have his haircut, Frank will donate his hair to the Little Princess Trust, a UK charity providing wigs to children who have lost theirs due to illness.
