Manchester United in Dream Team 2025/26: Top performers, smart selections & potential flops

2024/25 was a season to forget for Manchester United fans.

The Red Devils finished 15th in the Premier League with just 42 points to their name and defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final meant their last chance of redemption went up in smoke.

While standards have slipped to a dire low, the 20-time English champions remain one of the biggest clubs in the world and their pulling power might propel them out the mire.

Man United’s vast supportership also means their players tend to be very popular in Dream Team so let’s analyse their top performers, smart selections and potential flops ahead of the new campaign.

Top Performers

Bruno Fernandes (£6m) finished over 100 points clear of the next-best midfielder last season while only Mohamed Salah bested him among all assets.

The Portuguese playmaker defied his side’s struggles to produce a memorable individual campaign that featured 19 goals and 20 assists.

The 30-year-old has been a top-tier Dream Team performer ever since he arrived on English shores and while his services come at a cost – he’s the joint-second most expensive midfielder in the game ahead of Gameweek 1 – his output is simply undeniable.

Speaking of pulling power, Matheus Cunha will be United’s new No10 this coming season.

The talented Brazilian would not have been lacking suitors but he chose Old Trafford, despite the fact Ruben Amorim’s side finished level on points with former club Wolves.

Cunha’s disciplinary issues are a concern but he produces magic on the pitch – only Salah and Erling Haaland averaged more points-per-game last season.

On that subject, no midfielder averaged more points-per-game than Bryan Mbeumo (£5.5m)!

Essentially limited to just Premier League commitments, the Cameroon winger scored 20 goals and provided 10 assists on his way to 337 points.

He will be very popular again and deservedly so.

Smart Selections

Rightfully reclassified as a midfielder for 2025/26, Amad Diallo (£4m)has often been the source of much-needed inspiration in recent times.

The Ivory Coast international amassed 250 points via 11 goals and 11 assists last season, a superb return considering he was limited to just over 1,900 minutes in the league.

If given more playing time, he could post some serious numbers in the top flight.

We wouldn’t advise selecting him from the get-go without sufficient knowledge but it’s worth keeping track of Ayden Heaven’s (£2m) progress.

The 18-year-old is well thought of and it wouldn’t be all that surprising if he earned a run in the team at some stage.

Potential Flops

The big caveat with Man United this coming season is that, for the first time since 2014/15, they will not compete in Europe.

Their run to the Europa League final meant plenty of additional fixtures last term and so several players mustered respectable points tallies.

Without a bloated schedule, Dream Team bosses will be wondering whether the likes of Diogo Dalot (£3.5m) and Noussair Mazraoui (£4m) – both double centurions last season – will even be viable at all this time around.

Alejandro Garnacho (£4m) ranked tenth among midfielders after racking up 272 points but his relationship with Amorim has deteriorated and the 21-year-old may struggle for minutes if he stays at Old Trafford.

Lastly, Rasmus Hojlund (£3.5m) currently features in 0.8% of teams but even that feels too high, with all due respect to the Danish striker.
