BRENTFORD warned Manchester United to stump up £65million for Bryan Mbeumo — or else the forward will stay.
Man Utd want Mbeumo and could reunite him with Ollie Watkins after adding the Aston Villa striker to their list of targets.
The Bees rejected two Red Devils bids, of up to £60m, for 2024-25 top scorer Mbeumo.
Talks are ongoing between the clubs but Brentford director of football Phil Giles reckons Mbeumo could stay next season.
The Cameroonian ace hit 20 goals last season.
Man Utd’s latest bid was £55m plus add-ons.
Giles, who effectively confirmed captain Christian Norgaard’s £9.3m switch to Arsenal, said: “If they leave it’ll be on our terms.
“Twenty Premier League goals last year (from Mbeumo), we expected lots of interest and there’s been lots of interest.
“If he earned a massive move now and it was right for us financially, we’d be open to that.
“But if he ended up here next season, I wouldn’t be massively surprised. We’d be delighted. And that’s not off the table as well — so let’s see how it evolves.”
Mbeumo, 25, wants a move to Old Trafford.
Former Bees star Watkins, 29, is a Man Utd target — if they sell £64m flop striker Rasmus Hojlund.
