West Ham close to signing a striker previously linked to United

West Ham are reportedly eyeing a move for Newcastle striker Callum Wilson following his exit from the club.

The Hammers are looking to strengthen their attacking options, and Wilson, with his Premier League experience, could be the perfect addition.

West Ham have already made waves in the transfer market and are said to be keen on securing the 32-year-old’s signature. A deal is expected to be explored in the coming days.

Bruno wanted in Saudi again after Al Hilal snub

Bruno Fernandes is reportedly a target for Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.

The Manchester United captain was the subject of a £200m offer from Al-Hilal earlier in the transfer window.

But he chose to remain in England. Now, A Bola claims that Al-Nassr is weighing up a move for the midfielder.

Jorge Jesus, the club’s newly appointed head coach and the man who handed Fernandes his debut at Sporting, is keen to bring the playmaker to Riyadh. Should the move go through, Fernandes would join fellow Portuguese stars Cristiano Ronaldo, Joao Felix, and Otavio at the Saudi club.

He’s not for sale, Main

Manchester United have reportedly performed a U-turn on the prospect of selling Kobbie Mainoo to help balance the books.

That’s according to former club scout Mick Brown, who told Football Insider: “There are a number of players Man United want to get rid of.

“From what I understand, Kobbie Mainoo is not one of them after a change of mind.

“The likes of Garnacho, Sancho and the others who have been left out of training in pre-season, that’s who the club are looking to raise money from.

“In my opinion, they should never have been considering letting Kobbie Mainoo go, it was a crazy idea.

“After he didn’t sign that new contract, it looked like he had decided he wanted to leave.

“That interest didn’t really come as heavily as they maybe expected, but I won’t complain about that.

“From what I hear, he’s going to be happy to stay into the new season and hopes he’ll be a bigger part of the team as Amorim is going to use him more regularly.”

Mad world

Man Utd are set to be pipped to the signature of Mads Hermansen by West Ham.

Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim is eyeing the Leicester City keeper as a potential long-term replacement for calamitous Cameroonian Andre Onana.

United, along with Aston Villa, Burnley, Nottingham Forest and Wolves, have been impressed by the Dane’s displays since he dethroned Danny Ward as the Foxes’ first-choice stopper two seasons ago.

But SunSport understands West Ham have stolen a march on their Prem rivals by agreeing personal terms with the 25-year-old keeper.

All that remains for Hermansen to swap the King Power for the London Stadium is for Leicester and West Ham to reach a suitable financial agreement.

Juve got it

Juventus bigwig Damien Comolli has admitted The Old Lady will consider a move for Jadon Sancho if they lose one of their midfielders or widemen in the coming weeks.

He said: “I think the club is very attractive; many agents and players are calling me.

“After all, we are Juventus, and we want to get back to winning ways.

“Securing Conceição’s permanence was a clear and strong decision because he can play on both fronts.

“We have two of the best wingers in the world, and Nico is a great player. If someone were to leave, we will consider him [Sancho].”

Shaw thing

Luke Shaw has revealed United are aiming to win the Premier League next season.

He said: “The aim has to be to win the Premier League. I know people will be questioning me after last season, but it has to be that.

“It’s not just me that thinks that, I’m sure the whole team if you ask them, they all have the same aims.

“Even the manager – I’m sure he probably wouldn’t say in the press – but we all need to have the same beliefs and ambitions, and that family sort of feeling together and you all strive for the same thing.”
