Mason Mount – update
The 26-year-old has started just four times in the Premier League this season, and came off the bench in United’s dominant win over Athletic Club in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final.
It marked the former Chelsea man’s eighth consecutive appearance off the bench as he looks to become a more permanent fixture in Ruben Amorim’s plans.
Inter target
24-year-old Inter centre-back Yann Bisseck is reportedly a target for the Old Trafford club.
Bournemouth, Everton, Tottenham and West Ham are also among those interested.
Bisseck has played a consistent role in one of Europe’s premier side that are still battling on two fronts: Serie A and Champions League.
The German also comes with adept experience with back-three systems as Inter have excelled in Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 in recent seasons.
Record defeat for Red Devils
It was a record 16th Premier League defeat of the season for the Red Devils in West London.
Mason Mount opened the scoring but Brentford came storming back.

Life of Bryan
It’s being reported that Manchester United are set to join the transfer race for Bryan Mbeumo despite being on brink of a Matheus Cunha deal.
Telegraph Sport say the 25-year-old Brentford forward is expected to be one of Ruben Amorim’s top targets.
Wolves man Cunha is another target but plays mainly through the middle while Mbeumo operates out wide more.
Case for the midfielder
Casemiro will pocket a HUGE pay rise if Ruben Amorim’s side win the Europa League, reports suggest.
And the midfielder’s new wages would see him making the exact same amount as Cristiano Ronaldo during his second stint at Old Trafford.
United have one foot in the final after beating Athletic Bilbao 3-0 in Spain – with the Brazilian opening the scoring.
And the Star claim there is a clause in his contract which guarantees him a staggering 25 per cent raise if the Red Devils return to the Champions League.
That would see the Brazilian earn £500,000 a week, which is exactly the same amount Ronaldo pocketed from 2021 until 2022.
And it could pose a problem for Amorim, who’s been asked to slash the wage bill by minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Casemiro has endured an inconsistent three-year spell at Old Trafford but the Portuguese tactician still values him, especially as he has regained top form in recent weeks.
Obi is the one
Chido Obi became Manchester United’s youngest Premier League starter at Brentford.
At 17 years and 156 days, he broke the record previously set by Mason Greenwood in May 2019.
Obi is 67 days younger than Greenwood was when he played in a 2-0 defeat to Cardiff City.
Amorim explained his decision to start the youngster and insisted that he does not want any pressure put on him.
He said: “I think we need to focus a lot on our young players. For me, it’s not a massive game for Chido.
“I know that it’s important for Chido, but I don’t want a lot of pressure on Chido, I just want him to do what he knows.
“He played really well in those minutes against Wolverhampton.
“He’s improving a lot, and then Newcastle, the rotation. I feel that he’s ready to cope with the demands of the Premier League.”
