Rashford future up in the air
Amorim is due to meet with technical director Jason Wilcox, chief executive Omar Berrada and the recruitment team over the next few days, and Rashford’s future will be a major talking point, according to GiveMeSport.
With finances taking a major hit and no Champions League action next season, getting Amorim to patch up his differences with Rashford – who played his last Premier League game for the Red Devils against Nottingham Forest in early December – is believed to be on the agenda.
Indications suggest Aston Villa may not pursue a permanent deal for the Manchester United academy graduate, while Barcelona have yet to make contact with Old Trafford chiefs.
Amorim makes Champions League admission
Ruben Amorim has said not playing in the Champions League next season could benefit his team.
He said: “I have to say that for us not to be in the Champions League could be an advantage to perform well, to perform better, to prepare better [for] the games.
“To build that core that we need for the future so I think it’s a good thing for us to take advantage not to have European games.
“We had some difficult moments [this season],” Amorim said. “In [those] difficult moments you can see that Bruno is the guy that takes that responsibility.
“It should be, because he’s the captain, he has that experience so he’s really important for us and really important for what we want to build with this team.”
Red Devils agree personal terms
Man Utd have agreed terms with Ipswich Town over a deal to sign Liam Delap, according to ESPN.
It’s claimed that Man Utd chiefs have agreed the “framework” of deal that would see them trigger Delap’s £30million release clause.
While the Red Devils are also thought to have come to an agreement with Delap over personal terms too.
However, a deal isn’t over the line yet with the 22-year-old still considering whether he would like to join United or head elsewhere.
United eye Prem winger
Manchester United are showing interest in Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo ahead of the summer transfer window, Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
Romano told GiveMeSport: “I can also confirm that Man United appreciate Bryan Mbeumo at Brantford, a player who did fantastic with 20 goals this season in the Premier League.
“Top player, really big mentality, also fits what they want to do in the strategy at May United, so players who can be for the future, but also ready to make an instant impact to help Ruben Amorim for the new season.
“Cunha is like that: Premier League-proven, European experience, international player with Brazil, who knows how to handle pressure and knows how to add numbers, assists and goals.
“So that’s going to be really important and then there is Bryan Mbeumo, because he is a player they appreciate.”
