Fans furious with Ugarte

Man Utd fans have already grown frustrated with one of their star players – two weeks before the start of the season.

Angry supporters have demanded that Manuel Ugarte is added to the club’s “bomb squad” after a costly mistake in Sunday night’s 2-2 pre-season draw with Everton.

The Red Devils failed to win for the first time on their pre-season tour of the USA as they played out a feisty draw with the Toffees.

And Ugarte made a sloppy error to gift Everton their first goal of the match when he was dispossessed deep in his own half.

Ugarte, who could cost Man Utd as much as £50.7m with add-ons included, was trying to dribble away from the box and launch a counter-attack when he had his pocket picked by Vitaliy Mykolenko.

The Ukrainian easily stuck a leg out to rob Ugarte of the ball and tip it towards teammate Idrissa Gana Gueye.

Gueye then floated a delicious cross to the back post where Iliman Ndiaye tucked home an equaliser to punish Ugarte’s mistake.

Fernandes branded ‘proper captain’

Bruno Fernandes has been branded a “proper captain” after his miserable reaction to winning the Premier League Summer Series trophy.

Real Betis ‘waiting’ to launch Antony bid

Real Betis are planning to wait until the end of the summer transfer window to launch another loan bid for Antony, according to reports in Spain.

The La Liga side allegedly want to sign the Brazilian without an obligation to buy.

Man Utd want around £35million for Antony, however Betis are not in a position to pay that.

Fernandes slams ‘lazy’ United

Bruno Fernandes slammed Manchester United for being “lazy” after their successful US tour ended with a display that brought all the echoes of last season’s miseries.

He said: “It’s not where we want it to be. It’s every detail, every small detail matters. Our performance wasn’t the best off the ball.

“We were a little bit lazy and we have to avoid that because the laziness you can pay at any moment. We need to change that.

“The situation is improving but we are not where this club needs to be.

“At this football club you can’t do anything wrong on the pitch and off the pitch because it’s too big worldwide and you get punished by that.

“The culture here was winning and we need to bring that back. Not only the winning mentality that we need, and I think that’s always been there, but obviously if you don’t win you don’t show it.

“A lot of people have suffered from this, a lot of people who had been working at the club for many many years had to go.

“The fans are paying more for tickets and we appreciate all the effort they put in for us so now it’s up to us to pay it back on the pitch.”
