Man Utd ‘put EVERY player up for sale’ in shock transfer overhaul as Europa League failure leaves club in financial ruin

MANCHESTER UNITED have made every member of their squad available for transfer, according to reports.

Last night’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham has left the Red Devils in dire financial straits going into this summer.

Red Devils chiefs had been hoping to pocket £100million from qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

But failure to do so has left them needing to sell star players.

According to the Mirror, the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Andre Onana and Alejandro Garnacho could all be sold this summer.

Following last night’s Europa League heartache, club captain Fernandes offered to leave Old Trafford.

The Portuguese playmaker, 30, said: “I have always been honest. I’ve always said I will be here until the club says to me that it’s time to go.

“I’m eager to do more, to be able to bring the club the great days.

“In the day that the club thinks that I’m too much or it’s time to part ways, football is like this, you never know it. But I’ve always said it and I keep my word in the same way.

“If the club thinks it’s time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in or whatever, it’s what it is, and football sometimes is like this.”

Next season will be just United’s second in 35 years in which they have not qualified for Europe.

The Red Devils had already been plotting summer swoops for a striker, with Viktor Gyokeres, RB Leipzig ace Benjamin Sesko and Ipswich Town forward Liam Delap all on their radar.

No European football could see Ruben Amorim’s side miss out on their targets – with Plan B options being discussed.

SunSport revealed earlier this week that Lorenzo Lucca, Mateo Retegui, former Everton star Moise Kean and Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta are being considered as back-up targets.

United will need to get the expensive stars currently out on loan off their books for good, in order to fund summer business.

Expensive wingers Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony could all be back at Old Trafford this summer following loans at Aston Villa, Chelsea and Real Betis, respectively.

Since United’s partial Ineos takeover, hundreds of staff members have been made redundant.

Cuts have been made across the board, with last year’s Christmas party axed and free lunches for staff members scrapped.

Amorim, 40, offered to leave Man Utd without a pay-off following last night’s defeat.

The Portuguese boss said: “In this moment, I am not going to be here defending myself. It’s not my style, I cannot do it. It is really hard for me.

“So I have nothing to show to the fans and say, ‘I’m going to improve because of this, I have these problems…’ I will not do nothing.

“In this moment, it is a little bit of faith. Let’s see.

“I’m always open, if the board and the fans feel that I am not the right guy, I will go the next day without any conversation about compensation.

“But I will not quit. I am really confident in my job. As you can see, I will not change nothing in how I do things.”

SunSport understands that Sir Jim Ratcliffe remains behind Amorim, despite United’s difficult campaign.
