REAL Madrid have rejected a shock £78million bid from Manchester United for Aurelien Tchouameni, according to reports.

The Red Devils are looking to kick-start Ruben Amorim’s time at Old Trafford after last season’s devastating 15th-place finish in the Premier League, their lowest ever in the competition.

The versatile Los Blancos ace has been linked with a move to England for some time, having won the Champions League and LaLiga in 2024.

Now, according to Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda, Real Madrid have turned down Man United’s surprise move for the 25-year-old.

Midfielder Christian Eriksen left the club this summer at the end of his contract and Tchouameni would certainly be a strong replacement.

Tchouameni has made 146 appearances for the Spanish giants since signing from Monaco in 2022 for £85.3million including add-ons.

He’s bagged five goals in that time, as well as six assists.

Man United, meanwhile, have made three additions this summer already.

Matheus Cunha joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a stunning £62.5million in June.

The forward will earn £200,000-a-week while at the club – making him the fourth highest earner in the squad behind Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Mason Mount.

They have also added youngsters Enzo Kana-Biyik, a free agent from Le Havre, and 18-year-old Cerro Porteno’s Diego Leon to their ranks.

Meanwhile, other target Bryan Mbeumo will require a larger fee if Amorim and co want to bring him to Manchester.
