MANCHESTER UNITED have ANNOUNCED the arrival of Matheus Cunha.
The Brazilian has signed a contract running until June 2030 following his move from Wolves.
Cunha, 26, cost the Red Devils a stunning £62.5million from the West Midlands club.
The forward will earn £200,000-a-week while at the club – making him the fourth highest earner in the squad.
He has been pictured wearing the club’s shirt for next season which fans have hit out at for its similarity to last term’s edition.
Director of football Jason Wilcox has hailed the arrival of the talented attacker.
He believes that Cunha is one of the “most productive” players in the country.
Wilcox said: “Bringing in Matheus was one of our main priorities for this summer, so we are delighted to have completed his signing so early in the window.
“He has proved his ability to succeed in the Premier League as one of the most exciting and productive forwards in England during his time at Wolves, and before that in Spain and Germany.
“He has all the qualities we are looking for as we seek to build a strong, dynamic and entertaining team capable of challenging for the biggest honours.”
Speaking about the move, Cunha insisted he is hoping to become a vital player at Old Trafford.
He said: “It is hard to put into words my feelings about becoming a Manchester United player.
“Ever since I was a child in Brazil watching Premier League games on TV at my grandmother’s house, United was my favourite English team and I dreamed of wearing the red shirt.
“I want to thank my family and everyone who has helped me make that dream a reality.
“I can’t wait for the start of pre-season to get to know my teammates and prepare for the season ahead.
“All my focus is now on working hard to become a valuable part of the team, and helping get this club back to the top.”
Cunha was a shining light at Wolves last term as he netted 15 times in the Premier League.
He also chipped in with six assists.
His efforts would have made him the top goal contributor at Old Trafford if he had joined a year ago.
Bruno Fernandes was Man United’s top goalscorer in the Prem last season with just eight goals as the club finished 15th.
Meanwhile, for Wolves, it is the second star player out of the door at the Molinuex.
Cunha follows on from Rayan Ait-Nouri, who made his exit to Manchester City.
