Major broadcast change as Netflix land rights to £10million tournament featuring six of sport’s greatest players

NETFLIX has landed the rights to the second edition of tennis’ Six King Slam tournament in a huge broadcasting change

The streaming giant will be the new home of the competition, which is taking place for only the second time next month.

The four-day event, which is played in Saudi Arabia, features six of the sport’s best players as they compete for a huge prize pot.

Last year’s inaugural tournament was played between Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner, Holger Rune, Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.

Italian Sinner came out on top last time, pocketing the grand prize of £4.5m after playing just three matches – the biggest payday in tennis history.

The 2024 tournament was broadcast on DAZN.

This year’s edition will see Sinner, Djokovic and Alcaraz return to Riyadh, while Rune, Medvedev and the recently retired Nadal have all been replaced.

Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz and Brit Jack Draper will come in for the outgoing trio.

The exhibition tournament, which has no weighting on ranking points, will see all six players bank £1.1m just for participating.

That hefty cash prize is the highest in tennis, topping any of the four Grand Slam events.

Netflix has announced they will broadcast the matches internationally, with the tournament set to take place from October 15-18.

The American streaming company has over 300 MILLION subscribers who will be able to access the Six Kings Slam.
