The NFL offseason is a time for players to change their numbers, and a few Lions will be donning new digits during the 2025 season.
Detroit running back Jahmyr Gibbs and wide receiver Jameson Williams both had strong seasons in 2024, helping lead the Lions to a 15-2 record and the top seed in the NFC. Gibbs had 1,412 rushing yards and a league-leading 16 rushing touchdowns, while Williams had 1,001 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns.
Following their breakout seasons, Gibbs and Williams are among a bunch of Lions who will be wearing new numbers next season. Here are the numbers that the two offensive stars chose.

Jahmyr Gibbs number
Entering his third season in the NFL, Jahnyr Gibbs is changing his number. After using No. 26 in 2023 and 24, the Lions star will now use No. 0 in 2025.
While in college, Gibbs wore the No. 1, but his fellow teammate and Alabama alum will be using that number this year. Therefore, Gibbs is going down a digit to the exclusive No. 0.
Last year, rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold wore No. 0, but he is switching to No. 6 in 2025.

In 2024, wide receiver Maurice Alexander wore No. 1, but he signed with the Bears earlier in the offseason. Therefore, Williams will now take the number moving forward.
Jameson Williams college number
While both Williams and Gibbs attended Alabama, they didn’t overlap in Tuscaloosa allowing them both to wear No. 1. First, Williams wore No. 1 when he transferred from Ohio State to Alabama in 2021, then Gibbs took the same number when he transferred from Georgia Tech in 2022 and Williams entered the NFL draft.
