Liverpool will now have the chance to win the Premier League title in front of their own fans at Anfield next weekend.
Irrelevant to what their rivals do, three points next weekend would have them mathematically confirmed as champions.
What a first season in charge of The Reds this is proving to be for Arne Slot.
The ‘will he, wont he’ saga continues
Nearly every single fan wants to know whether their star full-back is going to sign a new contract.
He spoke with Sky Sports after this crucial victory:
For sure. I’ve had some great moments at this stadium, scored some good goals here. We are so close to winning the title now. I was happy to contribute with the goal, it was a big one. Am pretty sure that is my first left foot goal in my career. That is the one type of goal I have been missing. Save it for the right time. Especially for these fans, it was a special moment. Look I’m not gonna speak on my situation. These days like today are really special. Winning trophies and trying to win titles are what I wanna experience here.

It’s all over at the King Power Stadium – Liverpool have taken another step towards the title, but Leicester City said their farewells to the Premier League.
The victory was storybook stuff as Trent Alexander-Arnold came off the bench to score the winning goal with 14 minutes to go.
Alexander-Arnold had been out of action for almost six weeks with an injury suffered against PSG in the Champions League.
But he ended what looked like being a frustrating afternoon for Arne Slot’s side who dominated but wasted a string of chances to open the scoring.
Alexander-Arnold showed them what to do however, powering home the winning goal after Mo Salah and Diogo Jota had both hit the woodwork.
He then celebrated wildly with the travelling Reds fans – whipping off his trademark No. 66 shirt – and now the title is within touching distance.
For Leicester, they drop back into the Championship after one season – something that has been coming for weeks.
At least they made a fight of it, with Wilfred Ndidi hitting the post and Conor Coady having a goal disallowed.
But this was a game Liverpool always looked like winning.
